Is it possible that Donald Trump could drag down the Republican Party so far that it loses the White House, the Senate, and the House? According to Axios, that is a very real possibility according to their GOP sources. Axios writes:

The Republican Senate majority, once considered relatively safe, suddenly looks in serious jeopardy. Democrats are raising more money, and polling better, than Republican incumbents in battleground after battleground.

Add to that a record number of House Republicans retiring in swing districts and Trump trailing every major Democratic candidate nationally and in swing states. All the gloom and doom comes at a time when the economy is seen as relatively healthy, usually a good sign for incumbents.

The chief political strategist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Scott Reed, told Axios Senate GOP Senators in Arizona, Maine, and Iowa are being out-raised by their Democratic challengers. That, according to Reed, is a “three-alarm fire.”
