Donald Trump was “never a fan of John McCain,” that has been clear, but usually when someone passes on you at least don’t talk badly of the dead. At least that’s what most of us were taught. Trump clearly doesn’t adhere to that.
McCain so gets under Trump’s skin, he even trashed him to Dan Rather 18 years before he got to The White House.
Dan now says, “Seeing President Trump haunted by John McCain is saddening and infuriating. Many will see it as a sense of poetic justice for a man who can’t help but expose his petty insecurities. One wonders at the implications for a guilty conscience.”
Not being a fan of McCain is one thing, but we know Trump’s words resonate with his loyal supporters. Now some of those misguided fans are taking Trump’s hate for McCain to a new level. They are targeting McCain’s family members. Cindy McCain wanted to share one of the messages she received so people can understand how bad it has gotten. A warning that this is graphic.
Trump is widely being criticized for what he has said this week about McCain. And now Trump is going to get a tongue lashing from someone on his side of the aisle. Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson says, today, he will take to the Senate floor to deliver a “whipping” directed at the President. Isakson said:
“All these kids are out there listening to the president of the United States talk that way about the most decorated senator in history who is dead it just sets the worst tone possible.”
In other words “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”
