Rep. Liz Cheney isn’t backing down from sharing her views on Donald Trump. The Congresswoman has faced a lot of criticism within her own party after voting yes to impeach the 45th president. She was even censured by the Wyoming Republican Party. All this hasn’t changed her view though. Today, during a news conference both Cheney and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy were asked whether Trump should speak at CPAC. Cheney replied:

“I don’t believe he should be playing a role in the future of the party or the country.

This was in contradiction to what McCarthy had just said. Here’s the exchange.

Cheney’s remark quickly riled a lot of prominent conservatives.

But plenty of people also came to Cheney’s defense.
