An absolutely jaw-dropping new report uncovers some of the debauchery that allegedly took place at late-night parties in Orlando, Florida that were attended by embattled congressman Matt Gaetz and other local Republican officials. Two women who say they attended several of the gatherings talked to CNN and shared what they saw taking place at house parties and hotel suites. They claim some of the men at the parties had sex with women and cash payments were made, making this something that could potentially dovetail with the Department of Justice’s probe into Gaetz’s activities that involve allegations of sex trafficking and prostitution.

One of the women, whose identities were not revealed, said Gaetz behaved like a “frat type of party boy,” and allegedly took pills she believed were recreational drugs.

The legal cloud around Gaetz, the big-talking representative from North Florida, has grown darker in recent weeks. A close ally of his has reportedly been cooperating with federal authorities and sharing what some observers feel could be very damaging firsthand details of Gaetz’s activities. Investigators reportedly used a search warrant to seize his iPhone in connection with a 2018 Bahamas trip that could be at the center of the DOJ probe into Gaetz.

Things have gotten so complicated for Gaetz, his former ally, President Trump, is keeping his distance, and the normally-talkative legislator is suddenly at a loss for words in front of microphones.

He dodged those questions as he left a meeting of the House Judiciary Committee, an assignment that raises serious questions. How can a congressman under investigation by the DOJ be allowed to remain on a committee that has oversight over that department?

Here’s what House Minority Whip Steve Scalise had to say when asked today about this:

With regards to the CNN story, it reviewed receipts that indicated Gaetz and Joel Greenberg, a former county tax commissioner under indictment on multiple federal charges, sent hundreds of dollars to at least one woman who attended the Orlando parties via digital apps. The receipts reportedly showed payments that took place between 2018 and 2019.

One of the women CNN spoke to said she received money from Greenberg after some of the parties. She said some of the payments were for providing sex, but did not say who she slept with. She added that she never received money directly from Gaetz.

The congressman has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
