With 97 days left until election day, Joe Biden is widening his lead over Donald Trump in a Rasmussen poll. This is a polling company that the president often cites, as it is known to typically favor Republicans. Rasmussen reports that Biden currently holds a 6-point lead among likely voters.

The new national telephone and online survey finds Biden with 48% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Trump’s 42%. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate, while four percent (4%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

A week ago, the race was nearly even, with Biden edging Trump by just two points, 47% to 45%. The former vice president led Trump by 10 points – 50% to 40% – in our first weekly White House Watch survey early this month.

While other polls have shown Biden with an even greater lead, this one may be more worrisome for Trump, who has previously written that “Rasmussen was one of the most accurate Election Day polls!”

Meanwhile, two other polls out today show Biden with an even greater lead.
