Kamala Harris’ new strategy is “all-in on Iowa.” It would appear that if the California Senator can’t do well in Iowa, the writing will be on the wall. In an interview with CBS News, Harris said, “I’m practically living in Iowa to do the work that is necessary to make sure that I earn the support and have the folks in the caucuses who are standing in Kamala’s corner.”

Harris got some good news Sunday becoming the fifth candidate to qualify for the December debates. Politico writes, “Harris hit 4 percent in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal national poll released Sunday morning, one of the three national polls released exactly a year out from Election Day 2020. It was her fourth qualifying poll, and her campaign has said she has over 200,000 donors.”

But this comes on the heels of a “restructuring” for the Harris campaign. Part of a recent memo from her campaign manager, Juan Rodriguez read:

“To effectively compete with the top campaigns and make the necessary investments in the critical final 100 days to the caucus, we need to reduce expenditures elsewhere and realign resources.”

Politico writes: “Harris is hoping to duplicate the successes of past campaigns that shed staff and came back to win primaries after near collapses the year before — and to avoid the fate of countless other hopefuls who spent too big early and faded late.”

Harris did make some waves this past Friday in Iowa as she delivered what Essence magazine described as a “rousing speech” at Iowa Democratic Party’s Liberty and Justice event. The speech led her to release a new ad today that is worth a moment of your time.

The Iowa caucuses are February 3rd, 2020.
