The Hill: Senate confirms Vilsack as Agriculture secretary
The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Tom Vilsack to lead the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the second time.
Senator Bernie Sanders joined six Republicans in voting no, but Vilsack was still easily confirmed.
Here's why Sen. @BernieSanders opposed Vilsack's USDA nom:
"At a time when corporate consolidation of agriculture is rampant and family farms are being decimated, we need a secretary who is prepared to vigorously take on corporate power in the industry."
