When Donald Trump recovered quickly from coronavirus last fall there was chatter about whether his case was truly as mild as he made it appear. His personal doctor at the time, Sean Conley, released very little information about his condition. He wouldn’t even share the date of his last negative COVID test. Now months later we are finally learning some of the information that was covered up.

Trump was downplaying how sick he was, saying, “Don’t be afraid of COVID. Don’t let it dominate your life,” but in reality The New York Times says “Trump’s blood oxygen level alone was cause for extreme concern, dipping into the 80s, according to the people familiar with his evaluation.”

The new revelations about Mr. Trump’s struggle with the virus also underscore the limited and sometimes misleading nature of the information disclosed at the time about his condition.

The Times says, “There are still unanswered questions about whether Mr. Trump was already sick with Covid-19 when he participated in a presidential debate on Sept. 29.” That was two days before he made his diagnosis public.
