Republicans have long complained of “secrecy” in the impeachment investigation, despite GOP House members sitting in on every interview. They’ve called it a sham and a Soviet-style process. They stormed the secure room where depositions were being held. And they demanded transcripts be released (they were).

Next week, the public hearings begin. Cameras will be there. The country will hear from the witnesses who have already been questioned in “secret.” But Donald Trump doesn’t like that either. Departing the White House this morning he said:

“They shouldn’t be having public hearings.”

What doesn’t he want America to hear?
