Today could prove to be a significant day for the Democrats running for president, and a day that shows why polls still matter. A handful of Democratic candidates have been closely watching polls hoping to qualify for the upcoming ABC News debate. But there were no last-minute surprises. No new candidates reached the 2% threshold needed in polls to qualify for the September 12th event. Billionaire Tom Steyer, who had hoped to qualify in new polls released today, was the last one to find out he didn’t make it. That means just 10 candidates will take the stage, all on the same night.
