We learned today that The National Enquirer has supplied damning information to the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Southern District of New York. The magazine implicated the Trump campaign, directly, in the so-called catch and kill practice. You’ve heard how this works. The publisher of the magazine paid money for rights to Karen McDougal’s story, then never ran it. The Enquirer is helmed by Trump’s personal friend, David Pecker.
Just two days ago Trump wrote, “So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction, wrongly call it a campaign contribution, which it was not (but even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine.).”
The National Enquirer reached an agreement with the SDNY, supplying prosecutors with information and in return, no charges would be brought against the magazine.
Wow: The National Enquirer's parent company has admitted to prosecutors that it made the $150,000 payment in "concert with" the Trump campaign "in order to ensure that the woman did not publicize damaging allegations about the candidate before the 2016 presidential election."

BREAKING: @SDNYnews released a press release announcing today that “it has previously reached a non-prosecution agreement with AMI, in connection with AMI’s role in making the above-described $150,000 payment before the 2016 presidential election.”
