Barack Obama held a town hall today in Berlin, Germany where he spoke to young leaders who traveled there from all over Europe. Obama said it was “a conversation about how to best support civic leaders carrying out good work across the continent.” It was a rare occasion to hear the former president answer questions for nearly two hours.

Newsweek reports:

At one point, he warned against rising nationalism and the “bloodshed” that follows such positions.

“Nationalism, particularly from the far-right, has re-emerged,” he said. “A politics that divides us into us and them,” he said. “And we know where that leads. Europe knows better than anyone where that leads.”
