For the first time, Chief Justice John Roberts spoke publicly about the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.  According to The Washington Post:

Roberts gives only a few public speeches each year, and is known for choosing his words carefully. It seemed clear that he felt he needed to address how the partisan fights in Washington have turned the judiciary into something of a political spoils system.

Roberts tried to assure the audience that the court will seek to serve “one nation” and not “one party or one interest.”  Watch the clip above.
