This is news no one is thankful for, coronavirus cases continue to surge to new records nationwide. The New York Times reports:

For the first time since the coronavirus outbreak hit the United States, the country has added more than one million cases in each of the past two consecutive weeks. Covid deaths, which lag reported cases by weeks, are also at a level not seen since the spring.

With many Americans choosing not to follow CDC guidelines and travel over the holiday, there’s concern of a post-Thanksgiving surge. The nations leading infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci is giving one final warning before the holiday:

“To the extent possible, keep the gatherings, the indoor gathers as small as you can. We all know how difficult that is because we this is such a beautiful traditionally holiday, but by making that sacrifice you are going to prevent people from getting infected…. A sacrifice now could save lives and illness and make the future much brighter.”
