When a handful of Republicans had a chance to interview Fiona Hill and David Holmes at the public impeachment hearings Thursday they didn’t have any questions. Instead, they just opined, complained and smeared the witnesses. First, it was Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX), then Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH). After Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) used his time to rant about the impeachment process being a “coup,” Hill finally had enough asking, “Can I actually say something because we’ve had three…in a row?” Wenstrup yelled that he yielded back, but House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff allowed Hill to answer.

Here’s part of what she said, as she called out two Congressmen who left the room after lobbing an attack that they didn’t allow her to respond to:

“It’s unfortunate that Congressman Turner and Ratcliffe both left as well. Because I think all of us who came here under legal obligation also felt we had a moral obligation to do so. We came as fact witnesses.”

“I understand for many members this may be hearsay. I’ve talked about things I heard with my own ears. I understand that Ambassador Sondland has said a lot of things. I told you what he told me and what others told me. A lot of other people have said things to me as well again and also to Mr. Holmes around wend re related what we heard, saw and did. to be of some help to all of you in really making a very momentous decision here.”
