Imagine a medical doctor being accused of inciting violence.  And not just any doctor but the White House physician.  After Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) announced new restrictions in her state to slow the spread of a pandemic, Dr. Scott Atlas of the coronavirus task force responded on Twitter by writing “The only way this stops is if people rise up.  You get what you accept.”

After many people pointed out that Atlas’ tweet could lead to violence, the Trump ally tried to do a little clean-up. He wrote, “Hey. I NEVER was talking at all about violence. People vote, people peacefully protest. NEVER would I endorse or incite violence. NEVER!!”

But Whitmer, who was the target of a violent kidnapping plot, responded telling CNN “We know that the White House likes to single us out here in Michigan, me in particular. I’m not going to be bullied into not following reputable scientists & medical professionals.”

She also told MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski Atlas’ statement “actually took my breath away.” Watch what else she said above.
