Expect the phrase “It is what it is” to follow Donald Trump around until Election Day. Many analysts point out that the president will live to regret many of the things he said in Jonathan Swan’s interview. Anderson Cooper says the interview was an scathing indictment of Trump:

“It is what it is. It would be a cruel and heartless thing to say if it came from any individual, but it didn’t. It came from the most powerful officeholder in the world, the President.”

“For a man who seems to have strength and power, have you heard someone as allegedly powerful and strong as he claims to be — have you ever heard someone whine as much as this man?”
