Mike Bloomberg has always said his number one goal this November was to make sure Donald Trump was defeated. Now that he is out of the race himself, he is continuing that goal. He has endorsed Joe Biden and is committed to helping him, but due to campaign finance laws, he can’t just hand over a billion dollars. Instead, the Washington Post reports that “Bloomberg has decided to form an independent expenditure campaign that will absorb hundreds of his presidential campaign staffers in six swing states to work to elect the Democratic nominee this fall.”

“The group, with a name that is still undisclosed because its trademark application is in process, would also be a vehicle for Bloomberg to spend money on advertising to attack President Trump and support the Democratic nominee, according to a person familiar with the discussions, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.”

Indeed Bloomberg isn’t slowing down his criticism of Trump. Today he released an ad mocking the president’s pledge “to take back the House… hold onto the Senate and… keep the White House.” The ad ends with the words #DumpTrump and #GoJoe.
