White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders held her first press briefing in four weeks and it was clear she was on the defensive. She started off with a prepared statement about Donald and Melania Trump visiting Pittsburgh tomorrow to “express the support of the American people and grieve with the Pittsburgh community.” Just like her boss though the written remarks seemed very different than her off-the-cuff responses to questions. Sanders continued to be as combative as ever continuing to attack the media.

Earlier Monday Trump tweeted, “There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly.” CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Sarah Sanders to specify exactly which outlets were the “enemy,” but Sanders refused to name them.
