Ted Cruz has become more of a punchline than he already was. While the news out of Texas is depressing, the Senator’s ill-conceived, one-night winter break to Cancun is providing some comic relief. — Trevor Noah

Jimmy Kimmel joked,  “Where was Mr. Texas while his constituents are suffering? There he is, on a plane. Snake on a plane right there.” Watch what else Kimmel said above.

On the Daily Show, Trevor Noah said, “I get that Ted Cruz is tired. The man deserves a break after trying to hard to overthrow the government. But this is not the time, Ted! When your constituents said they need clean water, they didn’t mean go find a wet t-shirt contest in Cancun.” 

 

“I’m not even mad that you were selfish. I’m mad that you were so stupid. How can you be in politics for 10 years and still have no idea how bad this would make you look?”

Cruz’s walk through the airport with his “overnight’ bag is now the picture that sparked a thousand memes.

While it’s not funny that Cruz allegedly left his dog alone (with a security guard feeding it), the dog’s name is also causing some comic relief.
