A former adviser to Donald Trump is one of many people today saying the President is lying about his relationship with Paul Manafort. This comes after Trump tried to make it seem like Manafort, his former campaign chairman, was insignificant to his campaign. This comes as Manafort faces various charges including money laundering, bank fraud and more.

Regardless of when Manafort joined the campaign, there is no doubt he and Trump had a close relationship.

Paul Manafort was hired by Trump in February 2016.
He ran Trump's campaign until August 2016, and was an unofficial advisor for at least five months after.
Trump had known Manafort for years. They lived in the same building.
