It’s been 23 days since Melania Trump was last seen in public. Since then (May 10th) we know she underwent a medical procedure and was in the hospital for a few days. While many families around the country spent the long Memorial Day weekend together, the first lady didn’t seem to be with the President when he visited his golf club in Sterling, Virginia last weekend, she wasn’t there for the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetary on Memorial Day either and she missed Wednesday’s “White House Sports and Fitness Day.” Instead, Ivanka Trump took her place. When People magazine learned she would be absent from the event that first ladies traditionally spearhead they reported:

“Her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, told PEOPLE on Tuesday that Mrs. Trump ‘has been involved in several internal meetings with staff all last week, and that continues this week. We’ve been going over initiatives and other long term planning for events such as the Congressional Picnic and 4th of July.'”

Then on Wednesday this tweet popped up on the FLOTUS twitter account.

Based on the tone of that tweet there is speculation as to whether it actually was written by Melania or perhaps someone else. Donald Trump himself often writes the same phrase that the “media is working overtime.” He did so just a day later.

This has led to lots of speculation.

Then there is this. When Trump was asked earlier in the week how Melania was doing he pointed to a window in the White House.

Comedian Michael Ian Black has tweeted several times about “Melania’s disappearance” and wonders why the media isn’t pressing the White House harder on where she has been.
