Late Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported President Trump had “repeatedly pressured” the newly-elected president of Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden’s son. The Journal writes that in a July call, Trump urged “Volodymyr Zelensky about eight times to work with Rudy Giuliani, his personal lawyer, on a probe, according to people familiar with the matter.” (emphasis ours) It’s unclear if the eight times were in the one phone call or several.

According to the Journal, there was no quid pro quo on withholding military aid to Ukraine if the country didn’t investigate Biden. The Journal also reports that Rudy Giuliani has been in Europe over the summer meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian government in Madrid and Paris.
