Fox News viewers may have been very confused if they tuned into the channel’s morning program today. Instead of hearing the usual anti-vaxx sentiment, they heard some common sense about why people should get vaccinated. Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy led the conversation:

“Well, here’s the thing. And one of the CDC officials said yesterday, look the pandemic right now is really just with people who have not been vaccinated. 99% of the people who have died have not been vaccinated. So what they are trying to do is make sure that all of the people who have not been vaccinated get vaccinated...”

While co-host Brian Kilmeade chimed in with some questionable banter, all three hosts said they were vaccinated. A Fox News employee tells us while vaccines haven’t been mandated at the Fox headquarters, every person they know there has been vaccinated.

Doocy went on to tell viewers point blank, “If you have the chance, get the shot, it will save your life.” Whether the rest of the hosts will follow Doocy’s lead remains to be seen. Just a week ago today News & Guts wrote:

If you’re not a regular viewer of Fox News’ prime-time opinion shows, you may not be aware of how vocal the cable network’ prime time hosts — primarily Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham — have been in questioning and outright condemning the COVID vaccines.

Then, over the weekend Dr. Rob Davidson, an emergency room physician in western Michigan and executive director of the Committee to Protect Health Care write an opinion piece for NBC News that read:

I don’t blame my patients for their refusal. What breaks my heart, as someone who took an oath to prevent harm, is that my patients choose to abandon the science and evidence that can save their lives. I do blame Fox News and other right-wing media outlets for poisoning the minds of millions of Americans with the deceptive propaganda they spray into living rooms 24/7.

While Doocy is already being attacked by a lot of viewers for his pro-vaccine message, there are also tweets like this one.

This isn’t the first time Doocy has pushed the vaccine, he also had this exchange late last week.

Doocy isn’t the only one on Fox advocating for vaccines.
