We have a president that lives on reaction and distraction.  He is the producer of the biggest reality program possible, the running of the United States Government. But that’s only a subplot.  It’s really just about maintaining Donald Trump’s image.  Sure, he’s made declarations, appointments, proposals.  But it’s seldom about the issue, it’s always becomes about the issue-ee.

Never have we seen this so beautifully articulated as in this great Sunday read in The New York Times where White House reporters spoke to more than “60 advisers, associates, friends and members of Congress.”  It is not a “beautiful,” “wonderful,” or “fantastic” portrayal. The word we came away with was “obsessed.”  He is obsessed with himself, and seeing himself on cable news.  Despite the fact that he says he rarely watches television, the Times reports he’s in front of the TV up to 8 hours a day, iPhone ready to blast whomever he feels has slighted him.  Trump is also obsessed with diet soda, or maybe a better word is addicted.  He reportedly consumes 12 Diet Cokes a day, which is more than a gallon.  No wonder he’s amped.
