Senator Bernie Sanders is weighing in on the infighting between fellow Democratic candidates like Joe Biden, Cory Booker, and Kamala Harris. He told ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night:

“What is not acceptable are ugly personal attacks and trying to destroy someone’s character. That is not acceptable. So I hope that, what the debate will be about and what the campaign will be about, is about discussing the very serious issues facing the American people”

He is also spreading a message that no matter who the candidate is, the most important thing to do next year is get involved in the political process and vote:

“Anybody who thinks it’s time to give up in despair and just not get involved, this is not that moment. We are a democracy although that Trump is trying to undermine that. And what a Democracy means is that the future of this country rests in your hands and your hands and the hands of hundreds of millions of people. We cannot sit this one out. The future of the country is at stake, the future of the planet is at stake, we got to stand up, we’ve got to fight back.”
