Today the Biden administration is trying to play catch up, revamping a vaccine distribution plan that we are learning actually didn’t even exist. That’s right, the Trump administration apparently had no plan. CNN spoke with a source who told them, “There is nothing for us to rework. We are going to have to build everything from scratch.”

Another source described the moment that it became clear the Biden administration would have to essentially start from “square one” because there simply was no plan as: “Wow, just further affirmation of complete incompetence.”

New White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield confirmed they were handed “not a lot of detail.”

This isn’t exactly surprising information, back in December we reported that the federal government was leaving it to the states to organize distribution. And just last week we learned that the former Health and Human Services Director lied about there being vaccines in reserve. In spite of all that though you would assume things were still happening behind the scenes, now we are learning that wasn’t the case. What you saw is what you got.

According to Bedingfield, today Biden is expected to do what the Trump administration should have done almost a year ago:

“He’s going to leverage every tool available to him in the federal government. Some of the things that he is signing today are EOs that are going to direct agencies to use the Defense Production Act and all other mechanisms available to them to increase the number of syringes, for example, and just to make sure that we have the material that we need to get these vaccinations into arms around the country. So, this is an incredibly important focus for him. and it’s something that our administration is going to be laser focused on moving forward.”

Biden has promised 100 million vaccines in 100 days.
