Bye Bye Bannon? Will The GOP Toss Their “Master Strategist” Overboard?

Welcome

MIDLAND CITY, AL - DECEMBER 11: Steve Bannon speaks before the arrival of Republican Senatorial candidate Roy Moore during a campaign event at Jordan's Activity Barn on December 11, 2017 in Midland City, Alabama. Mr. Moore is facing off against Democrat Doug Jones in tomorrow's special election for the U.S. Senate.

The most interesting second day story out of the Roy Moore disaster is the fact that Republicans have been given the green light to run, not walk, away from Steve Bannon.  The alt-right architect of Donald Trump’s surprising win has gone from hero to GOP-zero in 12 months.  The “dean of disheveled” is suddenly out of favor and, most likely, soon out of work with the Republican Party after driving the Roy Moore campaign off a cliff, albeit with lots of help from the candidate.  And his nativist message, that was never really popular with Republicans anyway, just got tossed into the dumpster fire that is Donald Trump’s GOP.   Before the election, Roy Moore recently called Bannon a “master strategist.”  Bet he’s not calling him that today.
