New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an executive order requiring anyone out in public who is not social-distancing, to wear a face covering.

Axios reports: “The CDC has recommended that all Americans wear masks in public, but no state has thus far made it mandatory. Cuomo said that New York, the epicenter of the outbreak in the U.S., will give people a three-day notice to allow compliance in case they don’t currently own a face covering.”

Cuomo said, “”If you are going to be in a situation, in public, where you come into contact with other people in a situation that is not socially distanced you must have a mask or a cloth covering nose and mouth.”

The order goes into effect on Friday.
