The news is grim this week when it comes to coronavirus. The New York Times reports that on Wednesday there were almost 4000 deaths, “At least 3,964 new coronavirus deaths and 255,728 new cases were reported in the United States on Jan. 6.” This news was barely a blip on the radar as Capitol Hill was under attack yesterday.
The Wall Street Journal adds:
Overall, deaths have been on the rise for several months. In October, the average number of daily deaths in the U.S. was 773, according to the Journal analysis of Johns Hopkins data. In November, the average daily death toll was 1,232, and in December, that daily average jumped to 2,502.
