Fox News Reporter Mocked For Wearing Bullet-Proof Vest On Texas Border

Welcome

Los Angeles, California, USA - March 13, 2011: Fox News Truck and Camera on location parked on a street in downtown Los Angeles. Camera and light setup to record an interview on the street in Little Tokyo.

When those at Fox News complain about not being taken seriously as a news organization, it’s because of stunts like this.

A contributor to Sean Hannity’s program on Fox News donned a bullet-proof vest for an appearance from the Texas border. From The Washington Post

“Wearing a tactical green armored vest and a stern look, Fox News contributor Lawrence Jones looked more ready for eastern Syria than the southern U.S. border.

“Jones appeared on Sean Hannity’s program this week show to discuss the border in “crisis,” using the stark terms of border officials and President Trump, who has driven home violent imagery on the borderlands to justify moving billions of dollars from defense spending to construct a wall.”

Jones filed his report from Laredo, Texas where the Post notes, crime has fallen in the last decade and the city has a lower crime rate than average in the state.

In other parts of his report, Jones appears without the vest, but he claims the Border Patrol asked him to wear it because “two months ago there was a shooting.”
