It was inevitable and now it’s official. Hillary Clinton endorsed Joe Biden today during a town hall Tuesday afternoon. The two worked closely together in the Obama administration while Biden was Vice President and Clinton was Secretary of State.

Joe Biden made the announcement earlier Tuesday simply saying, “I’m with her.”

Clinton remarked, “I can tell you that I wish he were president right now, but I can’t wait until he is, if all of us do our part to support the kind of person that we want back in the White House. To end the kind of disregard, not only of American value but American institutions, the rule of law and so much else that is at stake because of the current occupant.”

The New York Times points out:

As the woman who got closest to the White House, Mrs. Clinton remains a singular figure in Democratic presidential politics, and a complicated one. Both beloved and blamed for her narrow loss to Mr. Trump in 2016, she possesses a loyal and powerful constituency of female supporters who argue that the election was stolen from her by Russian hackers.
