Hope Hicks Will Testify On Capitol Hill

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 22: Hope Hicks, White House director of strategic communications, arrives to a swearing in ceremony of White House senior staff in the East Room of the White House on January 22, 2017 in Washington, DC. Trump today mocked protesters who gathered for large demonstrations across the U.S. and the world on Saturday to signal discontent with his leadership, but later offered a more conciliatory tone, saying he recognized such marches as a "hallmark of our democracy."

Hope Hicks has agreed to testify before a House Judiciary Committee next week. It will happen behind closed doors, but a transcript will reportedly be released. This comes a day after the House voted that the committee could enforce subpoenas.

The Washington Post says:

Hicks might not answer many of the panel’s questions, citing the president’s assertion of executive privilege on events that occurred inside the White House.

Earlier this month, the White House instructed Hicks not to cooperate with a congressional subpoena for documents related to her White House service.
