The stage was spartan with only two candidates remaining. And it was noticeably quieter without an audience but this debate actually produced some news. Joe Biden committed to picking a woman as his running mate saying:
“I commit that I will, in fact, pick a woman to be vice president. There are a number of women qualified to be president tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my vice president.”
Biden also said if he has the opportunity to appoint a Supreme Court justice, he would put the first black woman on the high court.
