She has the distinction of never having held a press briefing, and now she’s out. Stephanie Grisham is no longer the White House press secretary.

Grisham is returning to the East Wing to become Melania Trump’s chief of staff. The move comes just days after Mark Meadows took over as White House chief of staff. From CNN:

“Kayleigh McEnany, who served as Trump’s 2020 campaign spokeswoman, will replace Grisham as White House press secretary, according to two sources familiar with the situation.Meadows is also tapping Alyssa Farah, the current spokeswoman for the Defense Department, to be the director of strategic communications, the two sources said. Ben Williamson, a Meadows staffer, will become the senior communications adviser.”

McEnany is a Trump loyalist, who in late February remarked:

“This president will always put America first, he will always protect American citizens… We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here, we will not see terrorism come here.”

She has also pushed conspiracy theories and often lies to the public.
