Citing everything from prosecutorial and jury misconduct to witness intimidation and negative publicity, the lawyer for the former cop convicted in George Floyd’s murder filed the paperwork for a new trial.
“The publicity here was so pervasive and so prejudicial before and during this trial that it amounted to a structural defect in the proceedings,” attorney Eric Nelson wrote in the motion.
