NYT: Holocaust Is Fading From Memory, Survey Finds

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, the New York Times writes of the challenges of educating the public about the genocide.  As the executive vice president of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany said, “The issue is not that people deny the Holocaust; the issue is just that it’s receding from memory.”  Some believe that nothing is as effective as hearing the story from a Holocaust survivor.  But as the number of Holocaust survivors dwindles, advocates and educators wonder: who will tell their stories, and how can they be told effectively?
