WAPO: Two black men arrested at Starbucks settle with Philadelphia for $1 each

Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson’s arrests sparked outrage last month and prompted Starbucks to decide to close all of their U.S. stores on May 29 so that employees can attend a racial-bias education meeting.  Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said that the two men approached the city and said that they wanted “to make something positive come of this.”

Starbucks also announced today that they have separately reached an agreement with Nelson and Robinson that includes an unspecified financial settlement and “continued listening and dialogue between the parties”.
