We are learning a lot more about Michael Flynn’s cooperation with Robert Mueller’s office in the last year.

CNN is reporting: “Special counsel Robert Mueller told a federal court Tuesday that former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn has given “substantial assistance” to the Russia investigation and should not get jail time.”

Mueller spoke with Mueller’s team 19 times over the last year.

Flynn was National Security Advisor for Donald Trump for less than a month. He resigned after it was revealed he that misled Vice President Mike Pence and the FBI about his communication with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Later in 2017, he pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI about his interactions with Kislyak. When pleading guilty last December Flynn had said:

“My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel’s Office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family… I accept full responsibility for my actions.”
