Rick Perry Subpoenaed By Congress

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 08: U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry (L) speaks as President Donald Trump (R) looks on during an East Room event on the environment July 7, 2019 at the White House in Washington, DC. President Trump delivered remarks on “his Administration’s environmental accomplishments of cleaner air and cleaner water, including helping communities across the Nation reduce air pollution and meet our air quality standards, as well as modernize outdated infrastructure and improve water quality while at the same time growing a strong economy for all Americans.” (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)

Rick Perry is now being subpoenaed by three Congressional Committees. This comes just a week after reports that Perry would resign soon. And it is occurring just days after Axios reported that Donald Trump threw his Energy Secretary under the bus saying that he made the controversial phone call to Ukraine’s president at Perry’s urging. The Associated Press reports:

The House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs and Oversight and Reform committees sent Perry a subpoena Thursday asking him to provide documents related to a Ukrainian state-owned energy company as well as his involvement in a July call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The committees set a deadline for Oct. 18.
