Despite strong objections from Robert Kraft’s attorneys authorities decided to proceed with releasing a video that allegedly shows their client engaging in a sexual act at a Florida massage parlor.The Boston Globes writes:
Florida prosecutors said Wednesday they would release police surveillance videos of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and 24 other men allegedly paying for sex — through the cases of two women accused of owning and managing the alleged house of prostitution the men visited.
Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg’s office said in court papers it is obligated under Florida law to provide the video to the public and the media now and cannot wait for a judge to decide whether it should be kept under seal while Lei Wang is prosecuted as the alleged manager of the Orchids of Asia Spa in Jupiter, Fla.
But late Wednesday a judge said he would delay the video release until after a hearing later this month. CNBC reports:
That order, albeit a temporary one, came hours later, according to WPTV in West Palm Beach. The judge also scheduled another hearing on April 29 for arguments on whether a protective order should be issued in the case that would keep the videos from public view for a longer period of time.
Kraft’s lawyers weeks ago asked the judge in his criminal case to bar the release of the video of the Patriots owner, which they have described as “pornography” and the fruits of an illegal search warrant that allowed cops to secretly place surveillance cameras in the spa.
