GOP Senator Mitt Romney told the New York Times that former President Donald Trump has “by far the largest voice and a big impact in my party.” The frequent Trump critic added that he’s “pretty sure” Trump will win the 2024 nomination if he decides to run.

Sen. Romney’s prediction is consistent with the findings of a recent Morning Consult/Politico Poll that found “a majority of Republican voters (54 percent) said they would support Trump in a hypothetical 2024 presidential primary election.”
