It took more than 40 hours for the Royal Family to react to the interview Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did with Oprah Winfrey. Even now, we are only getting this brief statement.

While the interview aired Sunday night in the United States, it aired just last night in the United Kingdom. The allegations of racism, brushing aside mental health concerns and rifts with the Royals have left people reeling. The Royal family was said to be meeting about how to thoughtfully respond to the revelations. That’s why this rather brief statement is puzzling to some.

Prince Charles was asked publicly today about the interview as well, but stayed silent.
