Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had her share of health struggles, but one thing has remained consistent, she has never missed a day of oral arguments on the bench until today. The Associated Press reports:

The Supreme Court says Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is missing arguments for the first time in more than 25 years as she recuperates from cancer surgery last month.

Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Monday the 85-year-old Ginsburg is continuing to recuperate and work from home after doctors removed two cancerous growths from her left lung on Dec. 21.

ABC News adds:

Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Ginsburg still planned to “participate” in the cases by reading the briefs, filings and transcripts from Monday’s session. It was not immediately clear whether Ginsburg would return to the bench later this week.

The court had released a statement after the operation last month saying, “Post-surgery, there was no evidence of any remaining disease.”

Back in November Ginsburg also suffered a bad fall, fracturing three ribs. But returned to work quickly without missing arguments.
