Senate Surprise: McConnell & Entire Senate Back Call For Whistleblower Complaint To Be Turned Over

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - SEPTEMBER 24: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (L) (R-KY) attends a press conference where he was asked questions on the potential of impeachment proceedings against U.S. President Donald Trump on September 24, 2019 in Washington, DC. McConnell refused to answer hypothetical questions on the impeachment topic, but did indicate he was not provided a reason by the Trump administration for financial aid being withheld from Ukraine. This is unusual and dare we say unprecedented since Donald Trump became president. The Senate, unanimously, is going against the president’s wishes to keep the whistleblower complaint under wraps. This means Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has backed Trump almost every step of the way, agrees with a resolution to release it to Congress. Bloomberg Steve Dennis writes:

The Senate has *unanimously* agreed to Schumer’s resolution calling for the whistleblower complaint to be turned over the intelligence committees immediately.

That’s every Senate Republican plus every Democrat now via unanimous consent agreeing to call on the Trump administration to cough up the whistleblower complaint, not just the phone call transcript. This is rare, folks.
