Several GOP Senators Met With Donald Trump’s Impeachment Lawyers

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 11: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) arrives at the U.S. Capitol on the third day of former President Donald Trump's impeachment trial on February 11, 2021 in Washington, DC. House impeachment managers will make the case that Trump was responsible for the deadly January 6th attack at the U.S. Capitol and he should be convicted and barred from holding public office again. Donald Trump’s impeachment attorneys met with a handful of GOP Senators (aka jurors) in the impeachment trial. The meeting happened late today after the impeachment managers rested their case.

The Senators weren’t even trying to cover-up the meeting. Instead, Senator Ted Cruz told reporters, “We were discussing their strategy for tomorrow and we were sharing our thoughts, in terms of where the argument was and where to go.”
