We haven’t heard much from Donald Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, since the raid on his office and hotel room. Now it looks like he may not want to do much talking at all. Stormy Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti told MSNBC:

“We’ve learned moments ago within the last two hours that Michael Cohen will be filing a motion tomorrow in our case, an emergency motion, to stay or temporarily stop our case. And the grounds for that motion are going to be that it is his intention to plead the 5th amendment against self-incrimination if our case goes forward in light of potential criminal jeopardy that he finds himself in. so, this is a stunning development. “

Bloomberg confirms Avenatti’s claim in a report that reads in part:

“U.S. President Donald Trump and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen plan to ask a judge to delay the civil lawsuit filed by adult film actress Stormy Daniels because of a criminal investigation that led FBI agents to raid Cohen’s home, office and hotel room.

Trump and Cohen say the criminal case would require Cohen to assert his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination if he were questioned in the Daniels case, according to a filing in Los Angeles federal court.”

This might be a good time to revisit what Donald Trump has said in the past about taking the fifth amendment.
