More Suspicious Packages Surface, Sent To Cory Booker And James Clapper

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - SEPTEMBER 28: Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) delivers remarks about Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh during a mark up hearing in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill September 28, 2018 in Washington, DC. The committee agreed to an additional week of investigation into accusations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh before the full Senate votes on his confirmation. A day earlier the committee heard from Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, a California professor who who has accused Kavnaugh of sexually assaulting her during a party in 1982 when they were high school students in suburban Maryland. A sweep of a South Florida post office turned up another suspicious package, this one addressed to New Jersey Senator Cory Booker. Most of the packages uncovered over the last few days are believed to have gone through the facility in Opa Locka (near Miami).

Another device was sent to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. It was sent to him at CNN where he serves as an analyst.

Clapper, wasn’t at CNN this morning but did call in to talk about what happened to say, “This is domestic terrorism. No question in my mind.” The devices are all being sent to an FBI facility for investigation.

Here’s an updated list on where the devices were sent/received:

  • Hillary and Bill Clinton (Chappaqua, NY)
  • Barack Obama (Washington DC)
  • Joe Biden (New Castle and Wilmington, DE)
  • CNN (addressed to former CIA director John Brennan)
  • George Soros (Bedford, NY)
  • Rep. Maxine Waters (Congressional mail facility near Washington DC)
  • Former Attorney General Eric Holder (with a return address for Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, ended up being returned to her Sunrise, FL address)
  • Robert DeNiro
  • Cory Booker
  • James Clapper (sent to CNN’s NY office, intercepted at Midtown NY mail facility)

The people on that list still all have one thing in common. They are all critics of Donald Trump and the President often verbally attacks them all. Even in the midst of all of this Trump lashed out at CNN at 3:14am today.

Clapper said of Trump:

“He bears some responsibility for the coarseness of civility in this country. He needs to remember that his words count. His voice is the most important in this country. And for that matter, the world. And he should think about that in the way he addresses the country. And, so, if he could continue what he did the other day when this first announcement happened and I think it would have been a lot better had he skipped the rallies because they seem to have an effect on him.”
