Talk about a bizarre campaign move. Texas Senator Ted Cruz tweeted a video of his opponent Beto O’Rourke talking to a predominantly African-American church about the controversial killing of a black man in his apartment. That’s it. We are assuming it’s supposed to be an attack ad, bu talk about a misfire. Here’s the tweet:

And here are some of the responses:
I’m so confused. Are you posting this because you disagree with what he’s saying? No that’s not it.
You’re posting it in hopes of riling up enough racists to come out and vote for you.
As @BetoORourke said #TrueToForm https://t.co/yjDbLHviYm

There is not a single word said here that decent people do not agree with. So what’s the point? Is it the backdrop of black people cheering? https://t.co/vOqnGPKie1

What kind of people would think this video is an argument against @BetoORourke? People who approve of police brutality against African Americans. In other words, racists. That’s who @tedcruz is appealing to here. https://t.co/Pjx6oONxYW

Not shocked that Ted “he found himself murdered” Cruz would run on “it is unreasonable for black people to demand not to be shot by cops” https://t.co/L411PThDKz

one last thought on that ted cruz tweet showing beto with black people as if its scandalous: anyone pushing the "liberals unfairly think republican voters are racist" should contend with the fact that republican politiicans actively appeal to their voters with racism

This tweet came on the same day that Cruz and O’Rourke faced off in their first debate.
