Donald Trump has a women problem. His approval among all voters has never been above 50%, but among women, it’s worse. From The Hill:

In a June 1-2 Hill-HarrisX survey, 62 percent of female registered voters said they were unlikely to support Trump’s bid to obtain a second term. Fifty-three percent said they were very unlikely to back Trump.”

One idea to improve that number would be to dump Mike Pence and add a woman to the ticket. Trump has repeatedly said he’s sticking with his VP, but then an op-ed appears in the Wall Street Journal endorsing a Trump-Haley ticket. The author is no stranger to the president.

Andrew Stein writes in the Journal:

I mean no disrespect for Mr. Pence, who’s loyally served the president and the nation. But he’s given Mr. Trump all the help he can. He inspired his fellow evangelical Christians to take a chance in 2016. But in 2020 they’ll already be repelled by the Democrats’ embrace of infanticide. Mr. Trump’s greater obstacle to re-election comes from politically moderate suburban women, many of whom see him as divisive.

Haley was Trump’s U.N. Ambassador until her resignation in late 2018. She previously served as the governor of South Carolina. Haley hasn’t always been a fan of Donald Trump. During the 2016 campaign there was this quote from Haley:

“Donald Trump is everything we teach our kids not to do in kindergarten. We have seen behavior over and over again that is just unacceptable.”
